After thinking about it for a number of years, my wife and I decided to finally build a pond. My mother and father has had a pond now for quite a few years and every time we went there for a visit, the pond bug bit just a little bit deeper each time. Finally, in the fall of 2002, we did it.

Throughout our WebSite you'll find photos of the progression of the pond. Although it really didn't take that long to build it, it's certainly an ongoing project with respect to the changes we're making, the plant life, and the different animal life that comes to visit.

Much of the initial hard work digging the pond was accomplished by having a couple of friends come over with a huge backhoe and bucket, as well as a small Bobcat type crawler with a bucket. They floated both machines here on a large flatbed trailer and between the two of them, they did a fantastic job digging the hole and clearing up afterwards. Thanks Greg and Sandy for all your hard work that first day. After that first day, my youngest son and his girlfriend came over to help, as did my oldest son.
