Peterborough District Camps - Langley Park
Location
Langley Park is located approximately 13km south-west of Peterborough Ontario, 10th Line of Cavan (near Highway 28S & Highway 115 junction).
The Property
The property consists approximately 50 acres, approximately half on each side of Cavanville Creek which flows through the property. The north side of the camp is accessible from the road and contains large open areas with some wooded areas. The south side of the property is heavily wooded.
Campsites
The north side has lots of open space lots of corners for smaller patrol campsites. The property south of the creek is accessible only by crossing the bridge. There are numerous patrol-sized campsites in this area.
Swimming
Some people do cool off in the creek, however, it does have a clay bottomwhich can make bathers dirty with clay when they come out of the water and leaches are also present.
Fires
All fires must be in the portable drums supplied.
Firewood
Some firewood can alsways be found on the north side, however, downed trees are more plentiful on the south side.
Water Supply
Pump located within easy distance of all camp areas on the north side.
Kybo's
Several including one vault-type which is pumped out.
Other Facilities
Large dinning shelter, campfire area, chapel area, obsticle cource and a large gravelled parking lot inside front entrance.
