To everyone at the Lakefield Animal Shelter;

Hello there everyone!!  I have not been in contact with you since I adopted my wonderful guy "Timmy" from you about 2 yrs ago, but him and I have such a wonderful relationship that I wanted to send a photo of him and tell everyone how lucky I feel to have found him with all of your help at the shelter!!

Timmy's name was "Fred" when he was at your shelter, but I renamed him as soon as I adopted him because he did not seem too attached to that name, and wow, does he ever respond well to Timmy!!  Tim Tim is my nick name for him, which he also seems to enjoy, and he is a Walker Hound.  From the moment that I saw him at the shelter, I fell in love with him in an instant, and vice-versa I believe.  I live in Brantford, Ontario, but I spend my summers at my trailer in Ennismore, with Timmy of course.  He and I love it up there and wish we could live there, but alas, we have to settle for summers.  Timmy knows as soon as we are in the area, and his ritual is to inhale as much of the beautiful, clean air as possible in one sniff, and then exhale his goop all over the back window of the car.  Do I mind?  Of course not, I laugh and laugh as I can clearly see how much he enjoys this, and I find it amazing that he can smell/sense when we get within 15 km's or so from the trailer.

My heartfelt thanks, (and Timmy's too of course), go out to EVERYONE at the shelter, for all of your wonderful care and efforts to adopt animals into "forever homes" !!!  I have been to MANY other shelters, and most do not have a No-Kill policy, which I would like to add, I agree with 100%.  In addition, I could very clearly see when I was there, how much everyone loves & cares for every single animal immensly and with much compasion.  I know that the shelter does not receive any sort of government money to assist with running the shelter, so my hat is off to all of you that either give your time or your money to help, and believe me, the animals would say so too if they could talk!!

As of the end of June, we will be at the trailer in Ennismore for the entire summer, full-time, and when we are, I will be applying to come in and help as much as possible along with offering to foster any animal in need.  I hope that anyone who has had the wonderful good fortune to adopt their beloved animal will try and do the same in giving as much back to the shelter as possible.  These animals need each and every one of us to help them, not only to survive, but to find a forever home with love, compasion and affection to live out the rest of their precious lives.

Once again....... THANK-YOU EVERYONE FOR HELPING TIMMY AND MYSELF FIND EACH OTHER!!!!  WE WILL BE FOREVER GREATFUL............... we will both see you all very soon!!
